28. Agnes Kerr5 Seright (William4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 14 October 1887 in Machrimore, Southend, Argylshire, Scotland.10,57,8 She married Air Marshall Sir Harold Whittingham, son of Engineer-Rear-Admiral William Whittingham and Elizabeth Annie Crowley, on 11 June 1912 in Tontine Hotel, Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland.28,57 She died on 11 March 1966 in Uxbridge at age 78.58,8 She was buried in Halton, Buckinghamshire, England.8

Air Marshall Sir Harold Whittingham was born on 3 October 1887 in Landport, Hampshire, England.58,57,8 He died on 16 July 1983 in Surbiton, Surrey, England, at age 95.58 He was the Honorary Physician to King George VI between 1938 and 1946.28

29. Reverend William5 Seright (William4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 20 February 1891 in Southend, Argylshire, Scotland.59,10,60,27 He married Margaret Thomson Ramsay, daughter of William Gavin Ramsay and Jessie Blue, on 7 November 1922 in Milton Parish Church, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.61,60,27 He died on 23 November 1958 in Crookedholm, Ayrshire, Scotland, at age 67.61

He was a minister for the Church of Scotland in March 1929 in Hurlford Kirk, Crookedholm, Ayrshire, Scotland.61 At Hurlford Kirk, (photo to the left), Reverend Seright distinguished himself through his devotion to the community. He helped with problems caused by bad housing and unemployment and later, the problems of wartime. He also advised about child education in preparation for their future. William continued as minister of the congregation until his death in 1958.

His interest in the community is still remembered by many, particularly in Crookedholm, where streets and a small park bearing his name are reminders of the successful efforts he made to have new houses built there.8

Margaret Thomson Ramsay was born on 23 January 1896 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.60,8 She died in November 1974 in Chichestor, West Sussex, England, at age 78.8 She was also known as Peggy Ramsay.8

Reverend William5 Seright and Margaret Thomson Ramsay had two sons.

32. Caroline Pollock Mulholland5 Seright (John4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 10 May 1885 in Blairdardie, East Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.32,62,63,11,64 She married James Taylor McKinlay, son of James McKinlay and Margaret Taylor, on 13 March 1908 in Town Hall, Clydebank, Parish of Old Kilpatrick, County of Dumbarton, Scotland.65 She died of cancer of the gall bladder on 3 September 1969 in Nelson, B.C., at age 84.66,62,67,64 She was buried on 5 September 1969 in Masonic Plot, Nelson Memorial Park, Nelson, B.C.62,64

She was a machinist in March 1908.65 In March 1908 Caroline Pollock Mulholland Seright lived in 66 Glasgow Road, Clydebank, Scotland.65 She and James Taylor McKinlay emigrated in March 1908 from Glasgow, Scotland, while on their honeymoon.68 In July 1950 Caroline Pollock Mulholland Seright and James Taylor McKinlay lived in Nelson, B.C.69

James Taylor McKinlay was born on 31 March 1882 in Hutchesontown, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.70,71,72 He died on 31 December 1962 in Nelson, B.C., at age 80.73,71,74,72 He was buried on 3 January 1963 in Masonic Plot, Nelson Memorial Park, Nelson, B.C.71,72 He was an electric craneman and a shipper receiver during his career. He worked for Singer Sewing Machine Co. at Clydebank in the early 1900's, and came to Canada in 1908 after his marriage to Caroline. They settled in Calgary, with James first working for the Canadian Pacific Railway (or perhaps Northern Electric), then for Canadian General Electric for 22 years as a shipper receiver until retirement in August 1947. Following retirement, he and Caroline moved to Nelson.

He reached 50 years as a masonic member in 1957 and was a life member of St. John's Masonic Lodge in Delmuir, Scotland. He was also a charter member of Granite Lodge #154 in Nelson. As a member of Nelson City Band, James played the clarinet. While he lived in Scotland, he played with the Glasgow Highlanders band, and in Calgary, played with several bands, including Shaine, Elks, and the Calgary Regiment.74 He retired on 31 August 1947 in Calgary, Alberta.68

Caroline Pollock Mulholland5 Seright and James Taylor McKinlay had one daughter and three sons.

33. Samuel5 Seright (John4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 24 February 1887 in 116 King Street, Govan, Lanarkshire, Scotland.32,11,34,85 He married Inez Lang, daughter of Thomas Underhay Lang and Rosa Clapp, on 6 August 1919 in St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Calgary, Alberta.8 He died of heart problems on 3 November 1953 in Calgary, Alberta, at age 66.8,85,86 He was buried on 7 November 1953 in Queen's Park Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta.85

From 1908 to 1953 Samuel Seright lived in Calgary, Alberta.22,87,37,85 He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers during the First World War, and worked manufacturing guns for the Royal Navy during the Second World War. Details of his Canadian Expeditionary Force service during the First World War is shown at two links (1) and (2). He was employed as a machinist and engine repairman with the C.P.R. Ogden Shops for 36 years.8,85 Samuel enjoyed photography and inventing things. He also had great times with his children and grandchildren.8

Inez Lang was born circa 1902 in Newton Abbot, England.86 She died on 31 January 1959 in Calgary, Alberta.8,86 She was buried on 4 February 1959 in Queen's Park Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta.86

Samuel5 Seright and Inez Lang had five children; 3 daughters and two sons.

34. Jeanie Brown5 Seright (John4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 18 June 1889 in East Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.32,11 She married James Johnston, son of William Johnston and Janet Warnock, on 24 September 1909 in Town Hall, Clydebank, Dumbartonshire, Scotland.90 She died on 9 December 1946 in Calgary, Alberta, at age 57.32,87 She was buried on 10 December 1946 in Union Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta.87

She was also known as Jessie Seright.11 She was a domestic servant in 1909.90

James Johnston was born in 1878.19 He was a machinist in 1909.90 In December 1946 James Johnston lived in Calgary, Alberta.87

Jeanie Brown5 Seright and James Johnston had four sons and one daughter.

36. John5 Seright (John4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 4 October 1892 in Old Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.32,96,11 He married Jean Barron Seright, daughter of James Seright and Jane Barron, in 1938.97,25,98 They are shown at the right during a holiday in 1967 at Buckingham Palace in London, England. He died on 9 September 1970 in Calgary, Alberta, at age 77.96,97 He was buried on 14 September 1970 in Union Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta.96,97

He immigrated in 1911 to Calgary, Alberta, remaining there throughout his adult life.97 He served overseas with the Canadian Army in the First World War.97 He was an engineer between 1915 and 1957 in the C.P.R. Powerhouse, Calgary, Alberta.97

Jean Barron Seright was born on 17 July 1904 in Stirling, Scotland.25 She died on 15 August 1997 in Bow Crest Nursing Home, Calgary, Alberta, at age 93.25,98 She was buried on 21 August 1997 in Union Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta.25,98 In October 1977 Jean Barron Seright lived in Calgary, Alberta.25 A tree was dedicated as a living memory of Jean Seright in September 1998 in Fish Creek Provincial Park, Alberta.25

John5 Seright and Jean Barron Seright had one son.

37. Sarah Townsend5 Seright (John4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 31 October 1897 in Clydebank, Old Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.32,99 She married Charles Hillyard on 22 December 1919 in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Calgary, Alberta.100 The photo was taken under their crabapple tree in 1979, shortly before they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She died on 15 March 1995 in Bethany Care Centre, Calgary, Alberta, at age 97.99,101 She was cremated on 23 March 1995 in Calgary Crematorium, Calgary, Alberta.99,101

Sarah Townsend Seright called Calgary her home from 1911 onwards.100,97

Charles Hillyard was born in Northampton, England. From 1916 onwards, Charles Hillyard lived in Calgary, Alberta.100 He worked as a machinist for the Canadian Pacific Railway, and was conscripted as a gunner during the First World War. Details of his Canadian Expeditionary Force service is shown at the following link. Charles died on February 27, 1980 and was buried in Burnsland Cemetery, Calgary.101,100

Sarah Townsend5 Seright and Charles Hillyard had one son and one daughter.

38. William5 Seright (John4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 5 April 1900 in Clydebank, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.32,103 He married Madge Tuft (?).8 He married Alyce ???8 He died in Las Vegas, Nevada, while shooting craps at a casino table.104

It is known that between June 1939 and December 1946 William Seright lived in San Francisco, California.37,87,22 He was a meat truck driver.80  In the photo, William (on the right) and a friend are showing off a prize fish. The fish was actually found on the highway, having apparently fallen from a passing vehicle ... successful fishermen indeed !!  

William5 Seright and Madge Tuft had one son.

There were no children of William5 Seright and Alyce.

    57. Samual5 Seright (James4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 6 January 1903 in Scotland.25,120 He married Flora Fontaine.120 He died on 12 March 1972 in Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan, at age 69.120,8

    In 1939 Samual Seright and Flora Fontaine lived in Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan.120 He was a labourer, a cook, and in later years, a mink rancher.120

    Samual5 Seright and Flora Fontaine had four daughters and four sons.

    58. Jean Barron5 Seright (James4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 17 July 1904 in Stirling, Scotland.25 She married John Seright, son of John S. Seright and Sarah Townsend, in 1938.97,25,98 They are shown at the right during a holiday in 1967 at Buckingham Palace in London, England. Susan Bowie5 Seright (James4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 11 February 1906 in Castlecary, Scotland.25 She married James Arthur Haig.25 She died on 13 July 1995 in Burnaby, B.C, at age 89.25,121 She was cremated following a service on 18 July 1995 in Burnaby Funeral Directors Chapel, Burnaby, B.C.121

    In October 1977 Susan Bowie Seright lived in Burnaby, B.C.25

    James Arthur Haig was born on 23 January 1892 in Scotland.122,123 He died of a coronary occlusion on 19 August 1951 in Vancouver General Hospital, Vancouver, B.C, at age 59.121,122,124,123 He was buried on 22 August 1951 in Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver, B.C.124 He was a janitor in 1951 in Kitchener High School, Vancouver, B.C.123

    Susan Bowie5 Seright and James Arthur Haig had four sons and three daughters.

    62. Margaret5 Seright (James4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 29 May 1910 in Scotland.25,125 She married Robert Turnbull.25 She died on 22 August 2000 in Red Deer Regional Hospital, Red Deer, Alberta, at age 90.25,125 She was buried on 25 August 2000 in Queen's Park Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.125

    In October 1977 Margaret Seright lived in Calgary, Alberta.25

    Robert Turnbull was born in 1899 in Prestone, Manitoba.126 He died in 1965.126 He was also known as Bob Turnbull.125

    63. Sarah Townsend5 Seright (James4, Samuel3, William2Searight, John1) was born on 15 June 1916 in Calgary, Alberta.25,126 She married George Nelson Trainor in February 1937.25,126 She died on 12 July 2000 in Rockyview Hospital, Calgary, Alberta, at age 84.127,126,25

    She was also known as Sadie Trainor.98 Between October 1977 and August 1997 Sarah Townsend Seright lived in Calgary, Alberta.25,98

    George Nelson Trainor died in 1983 in Calgary, Alberta.126,127
