This site contains a narrative of the descendants of James Taylor. James and his family originated in Scotland, with this history tracing them from Renfrewshire in the late 1700's, to Glasgow in the 1800's, and Canada in the 1900's.
A total of five generations are followed, with photos and illustrative links provided where available.
A special section has also been devoted to the game of chess, since John Monteith Taylor (generation 5) was a very proficient chess player while growing up and living in British Columbia ... claiming the provincial title five times, and competing in the Canadian championships a total of three times.
A genealogy listing of this magnitude is made possible only through the generous contributions of numerous family members. Many thanks are owed to these cousins for their genealogy research and documentation efforts.
